    Change up your Taco Tuesday this week with our One Pot Taco Beef and Rice. A taco skillet recipe that’s quick, easy and delicious will soon become a family favorite taco alternative. With all the flavors of a taco, you can eat this easy taco rice recipe on it’s own or in taco shells.

    Taco Beef And Rice Recipe

    Ground beef and rice recipes can be oh so tasty when seasoned with the flavorings of a taco.

    Taco seasoning, garlic and onion combine with ground beef, tomato sauce and salsa, making our Mexican beef and rice skillet dinner one that you will want to serve over and over again.

    Instant brown rice adds to the nutritious benefits of this ground beef recipe. A hearty skillet dinner that you can personalize with your favorite taco toppings!

    And this taco rice recipe is all made in one pot.

    Serve it as a taco bowl or fill taco shells, either way you'll have yourself a delectable taco meal. Now that’s the way to make dinner folks!

    You can even serve your taco casserole in a tortilla cup!

    Anytime I serve tacos is a good time for a taco party! But really, tacos are the best party food and I love the festive atmosphere when you have a taco fiesta.

    How to make taco beef and rice

    Scroll down for the full recipe instructions and ingredient amounts in the recipe card below

    1. Over medium-high heat, heat a large non-stick skillet with deep sides.
    2. Brown ground beef, onion, garlic and taco seasoning.
    3. Add tomato sauce, salsa, brown rice and water.
    4. Boil and then reduce heat to medium.
    5. Cook, covered, until rice, about 10 minutes, until rice is tender.
    6. Remove skillet from the heat and fluff with a fork.
    7. Garnish with shredded cheese, chopped lettuce, sour cream, chopped tomatoes, sliced jalapenos and cilantro leaves
    8. Serve in a bowl, in taco shells or in tortillas!

    Ingredients

    • 1 1/4 lbs. ground beef
    • ½ cup chopped onion
    • 1 clove garlic , minced
    • 2 Tbs. taco seasoning
    • 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
    • 1 cup salsa
    • 1 cup uncooked instant brown rice
    • 2/3 cup water
    • 1 cup shredded cheddar jack cheese
    • 1 cup chopped lettuce
    • sour cream
    • 1 small tomato , chopped
    • sliced jalapenos
    • cilantro leaves

    Instructions

    • Heat large non-stick skillet with deep sides over medium-high heat.
    • Cook ground beef, onion, garlic and taco seasoning until beef is browned.
    • Stir in tomato sauce, salsa, brown rice and water.
    • Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium, cover and cook until rice is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 10 minutes.
    • Remove from heat and fluff with a fork.
    • Top with shredded cheese, chopped lettuce, sour cream, chopped tomatoes, sliced jalapenos and cilantro leaves or your favorite toppings.
    • Serve on it’s own or in taco shells or tortillas!
