One Pot Taco Beef And Rice

- 1 1/4 pounds ground beef
- ½ cup chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic , minced
- 2 Tablespoons taco seasoning
- 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 cup salsa
- 1 cup uncooked instant brown rice
- 2/3 cup water
- 1 cup shredded cheddar jack cheese
- 1 cup chopped lettuce
- sour cream
- 1 small tomato , chopped
- sliced jalapenos
- cilantro leaves
Get Recipe Ingredients
Cook ground beef, onion, garlic and taco seasoning until beef is browned.
Stir in tomato sauce, salsa, brown rice and water.
Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium, cover and cook until rice is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and fluff with a fork.
Top with shredded cheese, chopped lettuce, sour cream, chopped tomatoes, sliced jalapenos and cilantro leaves or your favorite toppings.
Serve on it’s own or in taco shells or tortillas!
Makes 4 servings/about 6 cups.
