Easy Swedish Meatballs
In this recipe I combine ground beef and ground pork for the meatballs but you can use all ground beef if you prefer. The ground pork does add a dimension of flavor though.
You can also use ground chicken and make chicken Swedish meatballs.
And if you prefer ground turkey you can make turkey Swedish meatballs too.
You will want to use chicken broth in place of the beef broth if you make this recipe with either ground chicken or ground turkey.
The choices are many!
This one pot meatballs recipe comes together on your stovetop, sauce and all.
First the meatballs are browned in a skillet then set aside while you make the sauce in the same skillet.
The juices that are left in the skillet from the meatballs browning add a delicious flavor to the sauce.
Once the sauce is made, just return the meatballs back to the skillet and simmer until they are cooked through.
Heavy cream finishes off the recipe making a creamy sauce.
The homemade meatballs are tender and flavorful with the warm spices of nutmeg and allspice.
This is one of my new favorite recipes. The tender meatballs and creamy gravy sauce shout comfort food at its best!
There’s no denying that this is a great recipe for an easy dinner on a busy weeknight!
