The days are sunny and crisp and there's a slght chill in the evening air. There's no denying that the seasons are changing here in Jersey and I will just have to accept that.
Giving in to the changing seasons is not easy for me. I always want to hang on just a bit longer but I will admit that each season brings its own special charm.
Enter fall, enter pumpkin season and enter pumpkin quick bread, one of my favorite fall treats!
Once a new season arrives I become fully vested in it.
This year I am welcoming fall into my home with my chocolate chip pumpkin bread recipe.
My spiced pumpkin bread combines the two flavors of pumpkin and chocolate in every bite.
Have a slice for breakfast, for dessert or as a snack. Any way you have it is a perfect way to welcome in fall!
This is a quick bread recipe so it is so easy to make. Just combine the ingredients in one bowl and stir until blended. No mixer is needed, just stir with your wooden spoon!

How to make pumpkin bread

- Preheat oven to 350F. Spray a 9-inch x 5-inch loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray.
- In a large bowl combine butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla, stirring until blended.
- Stir in flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder, baking soda and salt until a batter forms.
- Add pumpkin puree and stir until combined.
- Stir in chocolate chunks. You can save some of the chocolate to sprinkle on top too.
- Transfer batter to prepared loaf pan and bake 1 hour. Tent with foil and bake an additional 10 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool for 20 minutes in the pan on a wire rack.
- Remove from the pan and cool completely on a wire rack.

- Make this pumpkin bread with white chocolate chips
- Leave out the chocolate chunks and bake a plain pumpkin loaf

- It is important for the pumpkin bread to rest in the pan for 20 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. If you take it out of the pan too soon it will fall apart!
