- Combine the fresh cranberries, brown sugar and water in a medium saucepot.
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until the cranberries have popped and the mixture has thickened, stirring occasionally, about 15 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the orange zest.
- Refrigerate until chilled.
