A beer cheese dip is guaranteed to be requested for every game. A combination of three cheeses, cheddar, Monterrey Jack and cream cheese, combine to make this hot cheese dip not only flavorful but extra creamy too!
Add in the flavorings of horseradish mustard, Worcestershire sauce and chili powder and this dip packs some hearty flavors.
Oh wait now, let’s not forget the dark ale beer and bacon. And we all know that bacon makes everything better and our cheddar beer dip is beyond better now!
Served in a hollowed out loaf of crusty sourdough bread resembling a football, this hot cheese dip will be the centerpiece of your table this football season!

How to make a beer cheese recipe
- Hollow out loaf of bread in the shape of a football. Cut extra bread into pieces for dipping.
- Combine cream cheese, horseradish mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder and garlic powder.
- Cook until mixture is smooth and melted, whisking occasionally.
- Stir in cheddar cheese, Monterrey Jack cheese and chopped cooked bacon.
- Heat until cheeses are melted, stirring occasionally.
- Spoon cheese mixture to your prepared bread bowl.
- Top with cooked bacon pieces to form "football laces".
- Serve with your favorite dippers.

Ingredients
- 1 pkg. (12 oz.) frozen soft pull aparts garlic bread , such as New York brand
- 1 oval loaf sourdough bread ,about 1 lb., about 9-inches x 5-inches
- 1 cup beer ,preferably a dark ale
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 2 Tbs. horseradish mustard
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 2 slices cooked bacon ,divided*
- your favorite dippers

Instructions
- Prepare garlic bread according to package directions and keep warm.
- Cut the top off and hollow out the center of the sourdough bread in shape of a football. Cut extra bread into pieces for dipping.
- In saucepot over medium-low heat combine beer, cream cheese, horseradish mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder and garlic powder.
- Cook until mixture is smooth and melted, whisking occasionally.
- Chop 1 slice of cooked bacon. Stir in cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese and chopped bacon.
- Heat until cheeses are melted, stirring occasionally.
- Transfer cheese mixture to prepared bread bowl.
- Cut remaining slice of cooked bacon crosswise into strips and arrange on top of dip to form "football laces".
- Serve with reserved garlic bread pull aparts, cut up sourdough bread pieces and/or your favorite dippers.
