Can apple stuffing muffins be made ahead?
Yes, you can make the stuffing muffins ahead and refrigerate in the muffin tin until you are ready to bake them.
Remove muffin tin from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature. Then bake as directed in the recipe below.
You can also bake the apple muffins and then store them in an airtight container until you are ready to reheat them.
To reheat homemade stuffing muffins, either place them in a muffin tin or on a baking sheet and reheat in the oven.

- 6 Tablespoons butter
- 2 apples, cored and chopped, 2 cups
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 Tablespoon chopped fresh sage leaves OR 1 tsp. dried sage
- 6 cups cubed stuffing mix
- 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 3 eggs , lightly beaten

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F. Spray a 12-cup muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray.
- In large non-stick skillet melt butter over medium-high heat.
- Cook apples, onion, celery and sage until just tender, about 7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and stir in stuffing mix and broth, stirring until mixture is completely moistened. Let cool slightly then stir in beaten eggs.
- Press mixture into prepared muffin tins, mounding up on top and dividing evenly.
- Bake 25 minutes or until set.
- Let stand on wire rack minutes. Loosen stuffin’ muffins around edges with a sharp paring knife and remove. Serve warm or at room temperature.
