Hot Dog Taco
Taco dogs come together easily. You can prepare the taco filling ahead of time and warm it up when you’re cooking the hot dogs.
I made the hot dogs in a skillet on the stovetop but you can use a grill pan or even cook them on the grill or even in the air fryer!
The toppings that you add are up to you. Personalize your taco hot dogs with your favorite taco toppings!
I included some of my favorite taco toppings, such as shredded lettuce, jalapeno slices, sour cream, cilantro, shredded cheese and salsa, of course!
You might want to include black olives, refried beans, tortilla chips and even lime wedges for a quick squeeze of lime juice!
A fun way to serve these mexican hot dogs is to make a taco bar and put the toppings in a jumbo cupcake tin.
Serve the hot dogs in their buns on a platter. Arrange all the toppings in a cupcake tin next to them and everyone will have fun making their very own taco hot dogs with all the toppings!
For me, about 3 Tablespoons is a good amount of taco beef on top of each hot dog. You can use less, or even more, depending on your personal preference.
Or you can leave the taco filling off and just top your hot dog with all the toppings of a taco. Any way you make it will be a delicious way!
That’s the fun part of everyone making their own taco dog. You do you and your favorite toppings!
If you want to get fancy and elevate your taco and hot dogs to a new flavor level, brush melted butter on the insides of the hot dog rolls, sprinkle with taco seasoning and heat in the oven! Now we're talking!
So go ahead and change up this week's Taco Tuesday and serve up Taco Hot Dogs for a fun twist on the typical Taco Tuesday!
