Everyone loves baked beans so you definitely need this easy baked beans recipe in your menu rotation. Baked Beans With Bacon combines brown sugar, salsa and sweet onion with canned beans and bacon together and bakes in the oven for a delicious side dish.

Best Baked Beans

Do you need another side dish recipe that’s both easy to make and delicious too? Of course you do and we’ve got you covered.

Canned baked beans are an easy base and starting point for our recipe.

Stir in sweet onion, brown sugar, a touch of apple cider vinegar and mustard powder and you’re almost done. Add my secret ingredient, salsa, and top with bacon and your side dish just became amazing!

So heat up your oven, stir everything together and just let those flavors bake into deliciousness.

I love serving this easy baked beans recipe with my jalapeno cornbread to soak up all the flavorful sauciness. Add in a refreshing salad and your favorite chicken, burgers or steak and dinner is ready!

  • Substitute chopped yellow onion or red onion for the sweet onion
  • Stir in spicy brown mustard in place of the dry mustard
  • Use your favorite salsa, mild, medium or hot!

Everyone needs an easy baked beans recipe in their menu rotation. Baked Beans With Bacon bakes brown sugar, salsa and sweet onion with canned beans and bacon in the oven for a delicious side dish.

Ingredients
  • 2 cans (28 ounces each) baked beans , such as Bush’s Original
  • ½ cup chopped sweet onion
  • 1/3 cup salsa
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 Tbs. apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbs. dry mustard
  • 3 slices bacon
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. In a 2-quart baking dish, combine baked beans, onion, salsa, brown sugar, vinegar and mustard, until blended.
  3. Top with bacon and bake, uncovered, 45 minutes, or until hot and bubbly and bacon is cooked through.
