How to make a classic mojito cocktail recipe

- Step 1: Place the mint leaves in a cocktail shaker and muddle them using a muddler or a wooden spoon. Add the rum, lime juice, simple syrup and several ice cubes.
- Step 2: Seal the shaker and shake until combined and chilled.
- Step 3: You can serve mojitos in a pitcher
- Step 4: Fill tall glasses with ice cubes and pour the mojito mixture over the ice cubes and top with club soda.
Hint: Recipe can be doubled and served in a pitcher.

- Fresh lime juice always has a better flavor than bottles lime juice, in my opinion
- This drink is especially refreshing when served over lots of ice
- I love using Bacardi rum in this recipe because of its high quality
- You can adjust the range of sweetness of your cocktail by adding more simple syrup
- Garnish your cocktails with lime slices or lime wedges, whichever you prefer
Substitutions
- In place of club soda you can use another carbonated drink such as soda water or sparkling water
- Make this mojito recipe with sprite and add a touch of sweetness. Just replace club soda with lemon lime soda, such as Sprite or 7 Up.
- Agave syrup or honey syrup can replace simple syrup
- I used Bacardi rum but you can also use your favorite rum in this recipe
- If you must, you can use bottled lime juice, however, fresh squeezed lime juice is so much better
