Homemade Chicken and Dumplings Recipe
Typically chicken is cooked in water which then becomes a light broth.
However, I’ve simplified this for you and stirred in shredded cooked chicken towards the end of the recipe.
I used rotisserie chicken but you can use any cooked chicken that you have in your kitchen.
Homemade flour dumplings are so easy to make with basic kitchen ingredients you probably already have on hand.
These herb dumplings are seasoned with garlic powder and fresh parsley.
Feel free to use chives in place of the parsley. Chives will impart a slight onion flavor.
Other fresh herbs, such as thyme, basil, rosemary and marjoram can also be used in place of the chopped parsley.
Just be sure you don’t overpower the dumplings with these fresh herbs.
Thyme and rosemary are really strong flavors so you would want to only use a teaspoon or two of those fresh herbs.
This flavorful chicken and dumplings will quickly become a family favorite recipe!
The creamy chicken dumpling soup is brimming with fresh vegetables and chicken and gets its creaminess from milk and flour. Honestly, so easy to make!
