Caribbean Rum Cocktail

The tropical flavors of coconut, pineapple and lime blend together beautifully for this fruity cocktail and island inspired drink.

Kick up your feet, feel the warmth of the summer sun, dream of the magnificent colors of a tropical sunset and indulge in this fabulously delicious rum cocktail!

My recipe gives ingredient amounts for two cocktails but you can level it up and make enough for a crowd.

Everyone will love sipping on a malibu rum punch!

Coconut rum adds a depth of tropical flavor to this Caribbean rum drink and pineapple juice adds that extra punch of fruity flavor.

Lime adds a hint of citrus notes.

Sometimes I use a cocktail shaker to combine the ingredients and then pour over the ice in the bottom of the glass.

Be sure to garnish with fresh pineapple, lime, and maybe even a paper umbrella, for a refreshing cocktail that is a true taste of the tropics.

Tropical rum cocktails are a sure sign of warm weather and lounging by the pool or on the beach.

How to make a malibu sunset cocktail

• Combine rum, pineapple juice, lime juice and grenadine. Pour over ice cubes, dividing evenly between two glasses.
• Top off each glass with 1/2 cup lemon-lime soda.
• Garnish with fresh pineapple slices and lime slices.

• Add maraschino cherries to your cocktail along with a splash of maraschino cherry juice!
• A splash of orange juice will taste good too 
• Garnish with orange slices 
• Add a splash of coconut liqueur for a more intense coconut flavor

Substitutions

• You can substitute mango rum for coconut rum
• Orange juice can take the place of the pineapple juice
• Cranberry juice can be used in place of the pineapple juice
• Ginger ale is a good substitute for the lemon lime soda
