    Chocolate Hummus

    Nutella Hummus combines chickpeas, cocoa powder and hazelnut spread for a protein packed sweet dessert dip that's easy to make and a perfect healthy sweet treat for your next dessert. The warm weather is here (hopefully to stay this time) which means that bathing suit season isn't far behind. Uh oh! I don't now about you but I still want my sweet treats AND a summer ready body. I want it all, don't you?That's why Nutella Hummus is on the menu this weekend. A sweet treat that's packed with good nutrition too. With just a few ingredients, chickpeas are flavored with the beloved hazelnut spread and cocoa powder making Nutella Hummus a protein packed dessert recipe. Trust me, you won't be missing that slice of cake once you treat yourself to Nutella Hummus! 

    Although nutella contains sugar it also supplies a good amount of key vitamins and minerals for good health. The hazelnuts in Nutella might also boost the your heart health, making it a somewhat nutritious food to include in your healthy eating plan. Adding chickpeas to it makes it that much healthier!

    Are you a fan of nutella like I am? Then you have to try Caramel Banana Nutella Pizza (it's ah-mazing!) and bake up Nutella Pie Crust Hearts for someone you love and Chocolate Hazelnut Crescents are a quick dessert when you're in a pinch! And let me tell you a secret. Promise you won't tell anyone? So sometimes I grab a spoon and eat Nutella right out of the jar! I know! Crazy stuff, right?

    Ingredients

    • 1 (15.5 ounces) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
    • ½ cup nutella
    • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
    • 3 Tbs. unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 3 Tbs. coconut oil, melted
    • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
    • 1/8 tsp. kosher salt

    Instructions

    • Combine all ingredients in food processor and process until smooth and creamy.
    • Serve with your favorite fruit and cookie dippers.

    Makes 1 ½ cups/2 Tablespoons per serving.

      Tastes more like chocolate cake than Nutella but it’s really good. Might try less cocoa powder next time to cut back on the chocolate flavor.
