We are all busy planning our fabulously delicious Cinco de Mayo menu but what is it that we are celebrating? Cinco de Mayo, or the fifth of May, is a date of great importance among the Mexican community. On that day in 1862 the Mexican Army was victorious over the French at the Batalla de Puebla. The Battle of Pueblo symbolizes the unity and patriotism of Mexico and is celebrated in Mexico with parades and speeches. Here in the United States we celebrate with parades, festivals, music, food and dancing too!
