Air Fryer Biscuits
Air Fryer Biscuits will quickly become your go-to way to make homemade biscuits from now on.
There’s nothing quite like a warm homemade biscuit slathered with butter. Usually, in my family, that’s a treat at a special dinner, but these air fried biscuits are so quick and easy to make you’ll find them on our table during the week too!
Now there’s no need to heat up your oven. You can make homemade buttermilk biscuits with basic ingredients quickly in your air fryer! There’s no going back now!
With a cooking time of just 9 minutes, you'll be making these biscuits with flaky layers a lot!
My air fryer makes getting food on the table so easy even on busy weeknights.
I love that these homemade biscuits are made with ingredients that I always hand on hand too.
Now don’t shy away from making them if you don’t have buttermilk!
Buttermilk adds to the delicious flavor of these biscuits but don’t worry if you don’t have any on hand. Just add vinegar to milk and let it stand until a buttermilk texture forms. So easy!
You can stir your favorite shredded cheese into the dough for cheese biscuits. Shredded cheddar cheese is a delicious choice!
Melted butter brushed on the tops of the biscuits before baking is optional. I made some biscuits without brushing them and they were oh so good too!
But we all know that butter makes everything better so go ahead and brush that butter on if you want to!
I also had a biscuit left over from recipe testing so I cut it into bitesize pieces and sprinkled them on top of a bowl of soup, like croutons. So yummy!
Trust me when I tell you, this is such a simple recipe for perfect biscuits and so much better than a can of biscuits!
So go ahead and make dinner special tonight with a delicious side dish of warm buttermilk biscuits!
No one will ever know you didn’t bake them in the oven. Yes, they’re that good!
Keep that air fryer out and give these easy air fryer recipes a try too!

How to make buttermilk
Don’t have buttermilk on hand but want to make these buttermilk biscuits?
No worries, just add 1 teaspoon vinegar to ½ cup milk and let stand until a buttermilk texture forms, about 5 minutes.
Swirls of Flavor Recipe Tips
- Keep butter in the freezer for at least half an hour before making your recipe
- Add 1 cup of your favorite shredded cheese to the dough
- Be sure to use unsalted butter, as the recipe calls for, or your biscuits may be too salty
- Be sure to measure your flour correctly. Always scoop flour into the measuring cup and then level off with the flat side of a knife
- For best results, I do not recommend using air fryer parchment paper for this recipe. The parchment paper will hinder the air flow and the bottoms of the biscuits from browning nicely
Substitutions
- You can use salted butter in place of the unsalted butter but then you must reduce the amount of salt you use by at least half
- If you don’t have a grater handy, you can use a knife to cut the butter into tiny pea sized pieces. Then use a pastry cutter, or two knives, when you add the butter to the flour mixture
Storage
- Store cooled air fryer buttermilk biscuits at room temperature in an airtight container or wrap them in aluminum foil.
- Biscuits will stay fresh for 1-2 days.
- As always, I find it helpful to visit the FDA website for food storage guidelines
