- Place the cookie on the parchment paper and immediately sprinkle with the crushed peppermint candy.
- Allow the chocolate to set for at least 30 minutes.
Swirls of Flavor Recipe Tips
- I used crushed candy canes for the crushed peppermint candy.
- Four full size candy canes gave me about 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candy
- Starlight peppermint candy will also work well in this recipe
- For red and green colors, you can use a combination of red starlight candy and green starlight candy
- I used 2 packages (4 ounces each) of Ghirardelli white chocolate for this recipe
Substitutions
- You can substitute 8 ounces white chocolate chips for the white chocolate
- Dark chocolate chips can be used in place of the white chocolate
- Milk chocolate chips can also be used instead of the white chocolate
Storage
- Store these peppermint treats in an airtight container in a cool place, with parchment paper between each layer of cookies.
- Cookies will stay fresh for about one week.
- As always, I find it helpful to visit the FDA website for food storage guidelines
