- 16 ounces (1 quart) fresh strawberries trimmed and sliced, about 3 cups sliced
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups sugar
Get Recipe Ingredients
In a medium saucepot bring strawberries, water and sugar to a boil over medium-high heat.
Reduce heat to low and simmer until the sugar has dissolved and the strawberries have softened, about 10 minutes
Remove from heat and let the syrup cool.
Strain the syrup mixture through a fine mesh strainer gently pressing the strawberries to release all of thier juices. Discard the pressed strawberries.
Transfer the fruit syrup to a mason jar or glass container. Seal and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 months.
This recipe makes 3 cups of simple syrup, 12 servings.
One serving is 1/4 cup.
