Ginger Syrup Recipe

Ginger Syrup is an easy recipe for a flavored simple syrup that you can use to flavor coffee, tea, cocktails and recipes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 piece (2 inches long) fresh ginger , peeled and thinly sliced, about a heaping ¼ cup

Instructions

  • In a small saucepot, combine sugar, water and peeled ginger slices.
  • Heat over medium-low heat until the sugar has dissolved.
  • Continue to cook for 10 additional minutes.
  • Remove from the heat and cool completely.
  • Strain into a mason jar and discard the ginger slices.
  • Seal and refrigerate until ready to use.

Notes

This recipes makes 1 1/2 cups of ginger syrup.
1 Tablespoon is a serving, however, if you like your drinks very sweet feel free to use more!
