- 1/2 cup oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 14 peanut butter cup miniatures unwrapped, quartered, about 1 cup
- 1 box (5.1 oz. ) instant vanilla pudding & pie filling
- 2 cups milk
- 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
- 4 cups thawed non-dairy whipped topping , divided
- 2 Tbs. fudge sauce
- 1 peanut butter cup , halved
Preheat the oven to 350F. Line a 13″ x 9″ baking pan with foil leaving a 2-inch overhang. Coat with nonstick cooking spray.
Prepare the brownie mix according to the package directions using eggs, oil and water and spread evenly in the prepared pan.
Top with the quartered peanut butter miniatures.
Bake 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
Cool for 15 minutes in the pan. Using the foil overhang, lift the brownies out of the pan. Cool completely on a wire rack.
Meanwhile, in a medium mixing bowl combine the pudding mix and milk until smooth and blended. Let stand 5 minutes until the mixture is just beginning to thicken.
Whisk in the peanut butter until blended.
Fold in 1 cup whipped topping.
To assemble: Cut brownies in 1-inch pieces. Arrange half of brownies, about 3 cups, on the bottom of 10-12 cup trifle dish. Top with half of peanut butter mousse, about 2 cups. Repeat with remaining brownies and mousse.
