Sheet Pan Tacos Recipe

Sheet pan tacos are a fun twist on the traditional taco. Similar to a crunch wrap, this baked taco recipe is easy to make with a crunchy outside and melty cheese and beef filling.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 pounds ground beef
  • 2 Tablespoons taco seasoning
  • 2 Tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 Tablespoons canola oil divided
  • 6 (8-inch diameter each) flour tortillas , divided
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese divided

GARNISHES

  • 2 jalapenos sliced
  • 3 scallions thinly sliced
  • 3/4 cup salsa
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • Cilantro sprigs

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350F.
  • In a large skillet cook the ground beef, taco seasoning and tomato paste over medium-high heat until the beef is browned, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat and let the beef moxture cool slightly.
  • Meanwhile, brush the bottom of a 7 x 11 inch baking pan or small sheet pan with 1 Tablespoon oil.
  • Arrange 4 tortillas in the prepared pan overlapping and with an overhang over all four sides of the pan.
  • Sprinkle half (3/4 cup) of the cheese in the center of the tortillas.
  • Top with the cooled ground beef mixture and the remaining half (3/4 cup) of the cheese.
  • Place the remaining two tortillas over the beef and cheese and fold the overhanging tortillas up and in.
  • Brush with the remaining 1 Tablespoon oil, top with another baking pan and a heavy pot.
  • Bake tacos for 30 minutes. Remove the heavy pot and baking pan and bake for another 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • Garnish with jalapenos, scallions, sour cream, salsa and cilantro.
