How to Make Simple Syrup

  • Combine the water and sugar in a saucepot.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat and simmer until the sugar has dissolved completely.
  • Remove the saucepot from the heat and let the syrup cool to room temperature.
  • Transfer the cooled syrup to an airtight container, such as a mason jar, and store in the refrigerator.

Notes

This recipe makes 1 1/2 cups of simple syrup.
1 Tablespoon is a serving, however, if you like your drinks very sweet feel free to use more!
