Preheat oven to 350F.
Season the chicken thighs with basil, kosher salt and pepper.
Heat oil in large deep-sided dutch oven over medium-high heat and cook the chicken until browned, about 7 minutes, turning once. Reserve.
In the same dutch oven, cook the mushrooms, onion and sundried tomatoes until the mixture is tender-crisp, about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes with their juices, red wine and add the reserved chicken.
Cover and cook in the oven for 45 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are soft and tender.
If desired, top with fresh basil and serve with hot pasta or rice.
