Sweet Potato Casserole With Pecans

  • Preheat oven to 425F. Arrange sweet potatoes on baking sheet. Bake 1 hour or until potatoes are tender. Let cool slightly and then remove and discard skins.
  • Reduce oven temperature to 350F.
  • Coat 2-quart baking dish with cooking spray. Mash potatoes, 1/3 cup brown sugar, 2 Tbs. butter, 1 tsp. cinnamon and kosher salt until smooth. Transfer to prepared baking dish.


  • In bowl combine flour, 1/3 cup granulated sugar, 1/3 cup brown sugar, pecans and 2 tsp. cinnamon until blended. Stir in 10 Tbs. melted butter until moist crumb mixture forms. Using hands shape into crumbs and arrange over sweet potatoes.
  • Bake 30-40 minutes or until crumbs are golden and mixture is heated through.


Makes 12 servings/6 cups.
Swirls of Flavor Recipe Tips
  • Omit the pecans for a nut-free topping
  • Add mini marshmallows on top during the last 10 minutes of baking time
  • Be sure to measure your flour correctly. Spoon flour into measuring cup and level off with flat side of a knife
  • When measuring brown sugar, remember to press and pack in ito the measuring cup
  • Substitute your favorite nut for the pecans
  • Substitute light brown sugar for the dark brown sugar
