Ingredients

  • 4 cups chopped watermelon , seeds removed or seedless watermelon
  • 1 bottle (750) rose wine
  • ½ cup superfine sugar
  • ¼ cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2 drops liquid red food coloring, optional

Instructions

  • Freeze the chopped watermelon for 8 hours or overnight until frozen.
  • Pour enough of the rose wine into an ice cube tray to fill and freeze 8 hours or overnight until frozen.
  • Combine remaining wine, superfine sugar and lime juice. Stir until sugar is dissolved and refrigerate until ready to use.
  • Place chilled wine mixture, frozen watermelon and wine ice cubes, in that order, in blender and puree until smooth. By placing the chilled wine on the bottom, this helps the mixture to puree easily. Add food coloring, if desired, and blend.
  • Garnish with fresh watermelon and lime slices, if desired, and serve immediately.
