Ingredients

  • green sparkle gel or corn syrup
  • green sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup Irish whiskey ,optional
  • 1/8 tsp. mint extract
  • 10 drops liquid green food coloring

For Shakes:

Instructions

  • Dip rims of shot glasses in green sparkle gel then in green sugar.
  • Combine ice cream, milk Irish whiskey, mint extract and food coloring in blender and puree until smooth and blended.
  • Pour into prepared shot glasses.
  • For full size milkshakes: Divide shakes between two glasses. Add green licorice straws and top with whipped topping and sprinkles.

Makes 8 shooters or 2 shakes

  • Prefer a fullsize shake all for yourself? Not a problem. Our recipe for shamrock shakes will make two full size shakes.
  • Not a fan of mint? Just leave out the mint extract and you’ll still have a vanilla shake that’s tinted green to celebrate Saint Pat’s Day!
  • Leave out the whiskey for a kid friendly milkshake
  • Add a scoop of your favorite protein powder for a protein shamrock shake
  • Top your milkshake with a marachino cherry
  • Serve your green shakes with fun straws and bottles
Substitutions
  • Make our recipe with chocolate ice cream for a mint chocolate milkshake
  • For a mint chocolate chip milkshake, substitute chocolate chip mint ice cream for the vanilla ice cream
