Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread is an easy recipe for a flavorful quick bread. Pumpkin spice and pumpkin puree combine to give a moist cake-like bread bursting with the warm seasonal flavor of pumpkin spice and studded with chunks of chocolate.

  • Preheat oven to 350F. Spray a 9-inch x 5-inch loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  • In bowl combine butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla, stirring until smooth and blended.
  • Stir in flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder, baking soda and salt until a batter forms.
  • Add pumpkin puree and stir until combined.
  • Stir in chocolate chunks. you can also save some of the chocolate and sprinkle it on top of the batter before baking.
  • Transfer batter to prepared loaf pan and bake 1 hour. Tent with foil and bake an additional 10 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Cool 20 minutes in pan on wire rack. Remove from pan and cool completely on wire rack.

Makes 12 servings.
Swirls of Flavor Recipe Tips
  • Make with chocolate chips in place of the chocolate chunks
  • Combine milk chocolate chips, semi chocolate chips and dark chocolate chips
  • Make with white chocolate chips
  • Make without any chocolate chips for a plain pumpkin loaf
  • Be sure that your butter is soft at room temperature for easy stirring
  • It is important for the pumpkin bread to rest in the pan for 20 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. If you take it out of the pan too soon it will fall apart!
  • Bake several mini loaves
