All bets are on! This could be the first weekend in thirty six years that we will have a Triple Crown winner! Not since 1978, when Affirmed won the Triple Crown, has there been a horse adorned with the much desired title. California Chrome, winner of this year’s Kentucky Derby and Preakness, is rumored to have exactly what it takes to win Belmont this weekend and sweep all three races. It’s been said he has the right trainer, the right owner, the right jockey, the right pedigree, the right distance, and the right time. I’m keeping my fingers crossed and wishing the best to California Chrome, his jockey Mike Smith, trainer Bill Mott and his owners Steven Coburn and Perry Martin. And I’ll be watching the race as I sip on my Belmont Breeze Punch, my adaptation of the official cocktail of the Belmont Stakes created by beverage expert Dale DeGroff. All bets are on for California Chrome! Cheers!
