Raspberry Basil Lemonade

Raspberry Basil Lemonade

If it’s Friday….and it’s summer….. it must be time for Swirls’ Happy Hour! I’m a fan of a cool refreshing beverage on a hot summer evening. Actually, who isn’t? While strolling through my farmer’s market this week I became inspired! I was drawn to the beautiful bright red color of sweet juicy raspberries and the flavorful scent of lush basil and just couldn’t resist! My mind went right to Happy Hour……a jigger of vodka and a cold refreshing splash of lemonade……seasoned with my newly purchased raspberries and basil. I’m puckering already! Cheers!

Raspberry Basil Lemonade

2 Tbs. sugar
ice cubes

1 cup raspberry vodka*

1. In bowl combine slices from 1 lemon, 1/2 cup raspberries, basil leaves and sugar. Using end of wooden spoon, muddle together until fragrant and juices begin to appear.

2. Transfer mixture to pitcher with ice cubes. Add lemonade, vodka, remaining lemon slices and raspberries. Serve with straws.

Makes 6 cups.

*Prefer your lemonade without alcohol? Just substitute 1 cup prepared lemonade for the raspberry vodka!
